How long does it take for scabs to fall off after a tonsillectomy?

I had my tonsils taken on last Wed. I am on day 6 post-op. The pain has started to go away, and I've eased up on the pain meds. It gets worse at night though, so I'm going to put a humidifier to see if it helps any? I hope so. I've started to feel some sort of scratchy thing on the back of my tongue now. I'm hoping to feel better soon, I go on vacation in 2 weeks. My doctor said the scabs should fall off between days 7 and 10. But I was just curious as to how long it takes for them to completely fall off. I've also been starting to feel something stingy everytime I swallow. I wasn't sure if that means the scabs are starting to fall off, or if I have ulcers in my mouth or what? I go for my post-op dr. visit July 5th. I'm hoping that everything is all healed and the swelling is gone. Does it take a long time for it to go down? And when should I expect my voice to come back?
